The government has officially rescheduled its e-invoicing implementation plan for businesses with annual income below RM5 million, offering more preparation time to accommodate Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
According to the Ministry of Finance, the revised timeline is as follows:
1. Taxpayers earning above RM1 million and up to RM5 million annually will now begin e-invoicing on January 1, 2026.
2. Taxpayers with annual income up to RM1 million will start on July 1, 2026.
3.Those with income below RM500,000 are currently exempted from the mandate.
This phased adjustment reflects the government’s commitment to supporting smaller businesses through a more manageable digital transition.
